Kia ora, my name is Jo and I provide a loving home-based childcare service through Nurture@Home in the Mayfield area of Blenheim. I really enjoy working in the home-based sector, providing an inviting comfortable environment that becomes a home away from home for the children in my care where play leads their learning and development.
I believe that each child’s sense of belonging and the building of relationships between care children and their family are valuable to the learning and development in the early years. As an Educator I am passionate about including music and movement into my daily programme and enjoy providing sensory and messy play opportunities for children to learn about textures, cause and effect, and science knowledge. I use outdoor play experiences for children to explore coordination, gross motor, locomotor and cognitive development. I enjoy attending Nurture@Home’s programmes which includes regular excursions such as NatureFocus, Playschool and special excursions in our community.
