The Best Decision

My hubby and I have thoroughly enjoyed sending our son Louie to Nurture@Home each week. People all warned us about going to ‘in-home care’, saying things like he won’t get used to lots of other children, etc., etc., but NO Way! We have found it to be the best decision! Children get more one-on-one with their educator, and they do…

✨Our Matariki whānau gathering was a wonderful evening of coming together to celebrate the Māori New Year. Matariki is a time to reflect, celebrate and strengthen our connections with one another.
Whānau gathered together for a relaxed meal, waiata (lovely voices!), stories, and a Matariki karakia. The children's artwork and Hiwa-i-te-Rangi wishing tree was displayed to acknowledge their creativity, learning, and aspirations. We enjoyed a lantern hīkoi (walk), stargazing, discovering magical moonstone rocks, and following a pathway of little glowing lanterns. We ended the evening with waiata and shortbread star biscuits. Ngā mihi to all the whānau who joined us and made the evening so special and memorable! ✨🩵✨❤️

Today, our tamariki explored the deep traditions of Matariki as we prepared for our whanau celebration tonight 🌿

Through crafting stars for our wishing tree (Hiwa-i-te-rangi), the children learned about setting aspirations. Creating lanterns taught them about te ao mārama (the world of light).

Our Playschool has been filled with beautiful voices too as the children have been enthusiastically practicing "Tīrama Tīrama" alongside our special Ngā Atua Māori waiata. They love singing about Tāne Mahuta, Tāwhirimātea (the wind), and Papatūānuku (Earth Mother), bringing the story of our environment to life 🌱

We love sharing in this special time of reflection, music, and togetherness. 🤎
