Learning Together
While children enjoy the calm, nurturing rhythm of home-based care, our shared learning experiences give them opportunities to connect with others, build friendships, and explore the wider world. These larger group gatherings support confidence, curiosity, and a strong sense of belonging.

NatureFocus
NatureFocus invites children to explore, discover, and learn in the natural environment. Through outdoor adventures, sensory experiences, and hands-on exploration, tamariki develop curiosity, resilience, and a deep connection with the world around them.
We have been operating our NatureFocus sessions for over ten years, meeting weekly in the outdoors to provide children with opportunities to connect with nature and explore local environments, developing a sense of belonging in their community and an attachment with nature. Re-visiting familiar settings encourages the children to develop confidence, and our children know they belong and have a sense of connection to the environment & community.
At Nurture@Home Childcare & Education the children’s relationship to Papatūānuku is based on whakapapa, respect and Fun!
Just Gym
At Nurture@Home, tamariki enjoy the best of both worlds — the calm, nurturing rhythm of home-based care, alongside special opportunities to explore, connect, and learn in the wider community.
We have regular Just Gym sessions which give children the chance to build confidence, coordination, balance, strength, and body awareness through movement, climbing, jumping, tumbling, and play. These sessions are always full of energy, laughter, and proud “Look at me!” moments as tamariki challenge themselves in a safe and supportive environment.
Special Outings
We also offer regular special outings that create rich learning experiences beyond the home. These outings may include visits to local places, community events, nature spaces, performances, or hands-on experiences that spark curiosity and wonder.
These group experiences support children to build friendships, develop social confidence, practise independence, and feel a strong sense of belonging within the wider Nurture@Home whānau. They are a beautiful way to bring our home-based community together while still honouring the small-group, relationship-rich care that makes home-based learning so special.
