Hi, I am Bex from Nurture@Home, quality education and home childcare. I provide childcare in the Rai Valley. I have been working in Early Childhood since 2009 and I am a fully qualified and registered teacher holding a Diploma in Early Childhood Education. My passion for working with all age groups following the Rai and Pikler philosophy ensures that I can provide children with the best start in their lives.
I am excited to offer home-based care through “Nurture@Home”, which has been my ultimate goal as a teacher as it aligns with my personal and professional philosophy, where I am able to offer education and learning for children through smaller group numbers, free play, and supporting, fostering and nurturing children’s learning and development. My knowledge and experience of RIE/Pikler have supported my respectful practice and I celebrate children as active participants in their learning.
I advocate for child-initiated play in a natural, outdoor setting; viewing natural, heuristic resources is vital for children’s learning and development; celebrating individuals who expose their surroundings freely and creatively through open-ended play. I believe in providing children with consistency, boundaries and respect. In the country, I am able to offer a fabulous early learning environment with a curriculum that follows the children’s interests. Together with my husband and son, we share a love of the outdoors, and all it has to offer – particularly enjoying fishing and hunting. We have two lovely dogs called Molly and Ace.
I have a rich programme of activities on offer for the children with lots of nature play, nature walks, messy play and art and craft. I look forward to making respectful, responsive and reciprocal relationships with you, your child/children and your whanau.
