Boutique Education & Care

Nurture@Home is a local childcare service that covers the Nelson Tasman and Marlborough regions providing boutique early childhood care & education through our team of nurturing Educators who are infused with a love of learning; providing safe, heart-led, loving, respectful and stimulating environments for all children to blossom. We believe Home is where the Heart is and that the child is at the Heart of the matter.

Need Childcare?

Our passionate team of heart-led Educators are carefully chosen and whom we believe will provide the level of nurturing care we expect! All of our Educators are safety checked and are genuinely passionate about providing quality early childhood care and education.

Our Home Educators/Kaipoipoi work from their own homes with a maximum of four children, creating a positive, nurturing environment and provide a rich programme to support each child/tamaiti to achieve their full potential.

Our Nanny Educators/Kaipoipoi attend to your childs/tamaiti needs, supporting their learning and development in the comfort of the childs/tamaiti own home. Nanny Educators/Kaipoipoi can also work alongside the families/whanau in a support role.

Our FREE Playschools

Children learn best through play and that is why we provide two Nurture@Home Playschools EVERY WEEK during term time.

Playschools provide lots of socialisation opportunities for children and adults and our Playschools are open to anyone in the community so you are welcome to join us.

We are licensed by the Ministry of Education and passionate about our active programme of activities full or rich learning experiences. Time and time again research shows that group size and child to adult ratios are key factors in quality outcomes for children. Providing tamariki with the opportunity to unfold and learn at their own pace and develop to their fullest potential.

Become an Educator

Enjoy the benefits of being self employed, make life-long friendships and a great income all while being involved in children’s learning as part of a great team.

Working as an Educator with Nurture@Home as your support network you become part of a fun, nurturing and professional team, caring for children in your own home as an at-home Educator or in the families home as a Nanny Educator. You can choose to work part-time or full-time and choose hours to suit your own family.

We would love to hear from you if you are interested in joining our team.

NatureFocus

At Nurture@Home Childcare & Education we are passionate about supporting children to connect with nature and Papatuanuku.

At our weekly NatureFocus the environments offer a variety of possibilities for exploring, planning, reasoning & learning as the children are able to study, discover, investigate and search. Developing a sense of belonging in their community and an attachment with nature.

At Nurture@Home Childcare & Education the children’s relationship to Papatūānuku is based on whakapapa, respect and aroha.

Have you heard the story of Te Wheke and the Octopus?
We have!! Today we went to see where Te Wheke's eyes landed as Kupe threw them (one out to the sea in the Cook Strait and the other on to the hill in Ngawhatu).
When Te Wheke was stealing fish from Kupe's nets a great battle erupted between Te Wheke and Kupe. They travelled from Hawaiiki to Aotearoa in battle. As Te Wheke fought back against Kupe his tentacles brought boulders up forming the Nelson boulder bank. When Kupe finally defeated the Octupus he sliced him in two and threw his eyes in two directions.
The purpose of our visit today to Maraa Wheke Octopus park was to hear the puurakau being told and to see if we can see the eye in our hills. After hearing the story role played by our Visiting Teachers the children were encouraged to use the props to retell the story. And what great story tellers we have! 🤗
We also had a very special leaving ceremony for one of our tamariki transitioning to school 😍🌟

We have lived overseas and in other cities in New Zealand and I can easily say that Nuture@Home has been the best childcare provider we have used. All the staff are so enthusiastic and keen and most importantly child-focused. In fact, we have referred many of our work colleagues and friends on to Nuture@Home as we have been so impressed by every aspect of their organisation. They pay particular attention to a child’s individuality and are delighted with their developments and achievements. We like Nurture@Home’s approach where time and care are invested in each child ensuring they thrive in their home environment.

My son will miss his outings to play-school very much when he begins school later this year!
