Hello, my name is Leah and I am a qualified ECE Teacher providing home-based care from my large and well resourced home in Stoke. I have experience in childcare with all ages and have been trained in RIE/Pikler philosophy.
My aim is to encourage children to be self-motivated learners by creating the foundations for life-long learning. I believe all children need to experience an environment where their emotional wellbeing is nurtured. Establishing a trusting relationship between the parents/whanau, children and myself is of utmost importance to me.
I am a great communicator and believe this is vital to ensure the continuity of care as I learn about each child’s culture, interests and routines. Each child attending my service will have the opportunity to express their needs and wants, with verbal and non-verbal communication including baby sign language.
I provide an active programme, natural resources and regular outings in the community and to Nurture@Home Playschools to encourage children to explore and learn across environments.
I am very creative and enjoy craft and knitting, socialising and holidays with my family.
