Hi, my name is Charlene, and I provide a loving home-based childcare service mainly as a relief Educator with Nurture@Home. I believe that children thrive when they have the freedom to play and explore in a safe environment. Having SO much fun is one of my core values as a teacher, helping children grow and to know that they have a unique purpose in society.
Originally from South Africa, my family of five made the move to New Zealand, first spending time in Wanaka before making the move to sunny Nelson. I hold a secondary teaching qualification but have been working with preschool children for over 4 years. In my spare time I am always exploring with my family. You will often find us at the beach, on the lovely walks we have access to, camping, fishing by the river, or at a playground. We enjoy time with friends and live a Christian lifestyle.
Activities include art, messy play, puppet shows, music & dance and science experiments, plus many outings within our community which include Mini Movers music, Nurture@Home Playschool and visits to the libraries.
