Kia ora, my name is Shakira and I provide a loving home-based Nanny childcare service through Nurture@Home in Blenheim. I am a positive, friendly, and caring young woman who is passionate about the wellbeing of children, animals, and people. I pride myself on being polite, responsible, and well-mannered, with a compassionate and patient approach. I love supporting children to learn and grow through meaningful relationships and play.
I have nearly three years of experience working with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, primarily in early learning centres while completing my ECE studies. Children often affectionately call me “the small teacher” due to my height! I enjoy singing, reading stories, joining in pretend play, and exploring puzzles and creative activities with tamariki.
I believe children learn best through play in a safe, secure, and nurturing environment where they feel comfortable, supported, and engaged. My goal is to create positive relationships with each child and whānau, building a friendly and fun atmosphere that encourages curiosity, confidence, and connection.
My Qualifications & Experience include working with children from as young as 6months to 5 years old. I have a ECE Level 3 Qualified and am currently studying towards my ECE Level 4. I have a current First Aid certification and a full licence and fully insured vehicle.
