Kia ora, my name is Mel and I provide a loving home-based childcare service as a nanny through Nurture@Home.
I believe it is important to provide children with a calm and nurturing environment that is full of opportunities. I teach with compassion and respect and focus on connection, being present (watching and observing) and listening.
I hold a diploma in nannying from the nanny school and are very keen to be starting my level 4 certificate in ECE. I have got many years’ experience as a nanny working with children aged 3 months- 9 years of age and have worked as a support teacher at Pohutakawa Kindy in Auckland for a time too.
When I care for your child, I get great enjoyment out of observing their play and watching them learn. I offer extension to their learning from their own interests. I love all types of play, structured or unstructured. I attend Nurture@Home Playschool and NatureFocus sessions and love to offer a nice balance of time at home and in our community.
