Kia ora, my name is Linda and I provide a loving home-based childcare service through Nurture@Home in Seddon. I am a fully qualified and registered Early Childhood Teacher with a Diploma in Education and have 9 years’ experience in the industry.
I believe it is important for children to learn to be social, show and receive love, to be patient and care for others. I also advocate for children’s learning to directly follow their interests so that children can be more deeply engaged and learn to their full potential. I believe in a nature-based philosophy where children can explore Papatuanuku and our natural world freely and this is one of the main reasons I moved into home-based care as I am able to provide for this much more readily in the smaller group.
I live on a farm, so we are surrounded by animals and nature. We have 2 cats, 2 dogs, chickens, and pet calves too. As a family, we love camping, fishing, and swimming and love the outdoors in general. I believe that our farm lifestyle and location will be a huge support to the children’s learning as there is lots of space both indoors and out to explore and learn. I attend a Playgroup regularly and visit the local kindergarten from time to time to grow connections in our community.
