Hi, my name is Nishi from Nurture@Home, quality education and home childcare. I provide a nurturing home environment that inspires curiosity and creative play in central Nelson, conveniently located to several nearby parks and reserves that we utilise as part of our outdoor learning program.
I believe it’s important for children to develop critical thinking, creativity, a love of learning and teaching empathy and co-operation is essential to their development. When interacting with children, I prioritize being totally present and listening to them whilst providing a safe environment to build their confidence and motivation to learn.
In Sri Lanka I completed a Diploma in ECE and have many years’ experience working with children of all ages. Having my own daughter has given me so much relevant experience as well and I know that my career ambitions see me fitting into the Home-based ECE sector nicely. I follow a Montessori philosophy and have completed lots of professional development courses to support this.
I offer a variety of activities and outings which include music, outdoor exploration, art/craft and NatureFocus walks. I look forward to meeting new families and working alongside them to support their child’s learning journey at Nurture@Home with Nishi.
