Kia ora, my name is Janna from Nurture@Home, quality education and childcare. I provide a loving home-based childcare service in Richmond where my environment caters for 4 children at one time allowing children to have space to express themselves through play freely, while also learning how to build strong friendships with other children as they become capable and confident learners, as through play children build strong foundations of understanding that foster and benefit all later learning.
I have a Bachelor’s Degree in ECE and a Diploma in Performance Arts and am a loving, kind, fun and caring kaiako (teacher) that treats everyone with respect. My programme includes regular visits to Nurture Playschools and other outings that occur through the provision of Nurture@Home curriculum. For children to flourish I believe they need to feel secure, accepted and nurtured. I have a gentle, loving nature and children and family in my care are encouraged to feel part of our extended family. My family includes my daughter, and son and when I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my children and doing fun enjoyable activities such as swimming at the beach, baking, reading, yoga and going for nature walks. I also love playing the piano and indoor bowls.
My home is a secure oasis where children can learn and explore without pressure, where teaching begins with the heart and is focused on building relationships. I believe when children feel valued and connected this has a positive impact on their learning and development.
