Kia ora, my name is Emily and I provide a loving home-based childcare service through [email protected], quality education and home childcare, as a Nanny. I believe that children can teach us so much as we also teach them. I encourage children to share their knowledge and ideas and question them, asking thought-provoking questions as we discuss ideas. I think it is important for children to learn to see the world through lots of different perspectives to help foster empathy, acceptance and understanding.
I have experience working as a nanny both in New Zealand and also as an Au-pair in Germany while on my overseas travels. While living in Otago, I worked at the University childcare centres as a relief teacher. I have also been a professional Facepainter for a number of years. I absolutely love to learn! I do lots of night classes such as jewellery, pottery, New Zealand Sign Language, Chinese, woodturning, sewing etc. I also make clay earrings, write poems and hit the gym when time allows. I love crafts, beach walks, community events and spending time with friends and family and my lovely little dog named Oscar
I am extremely patient, compassionate and a great listener. I know New Zealand Sign Language and am working on improving my Te Reo. I adapt quickly to a new environment/family and am really good at creating a positive rapport with the children I work with. I am very at home in the world of arts and crafts! I love to sing and play/listen to music. I also enjoy nature play, messy play, baking, reading stories and doing experiments. I enjoy getting out and about with the children to activities, the beach and playground etc. I look forward to meeting you and being able to support your whanau.
